Love this Shilpa! I did have some council-esque conversations that helped me through some grim times as a parent - I just wish they had been more frequent!
Totally hear that Gino! Makes me think about how we could have Wisdom Councils especially in these key transitional moments of our lives. And consistency feels so key to them. Thanks for your reflection on that!
i actually started it with one other friend recently .
and when we couldn't make a meeting date , we would send voice messages instead , so that our committment felt respected .
instead of sending a long-winded 15mins message ... we broke it into chunks of approx 2mins . We therefore have the chance to listen to our own voices on the recording (so that we felt extra heard 😎) .... and had the chance to re-record any bits if we wanted ... and then moved on to record the next small chunk .
the other member can also send brief reflections on what has been sent
live session was better , but voice messages are a nice substitute .
Thanks for that great example of other ways to make the Council work if gathering at the same time proves difficult. I love the practice of having a short sharing over voice-note, and then asking others to chime in about it with questions and reflections, before going on to share more. So good Pancho! Thank you!
